News from Delhi Math October 21st 2010 Part 2
Dear devotees,
Please accept my dandavat pranams. All glories to Srila Gurudeva and Srila Prabhupada. All glories to Sri Sri Guru and Gauranga. All glories to Sri Sri Radha-Vinodehariji.
Devotees gathered this evening for the evening program in Gopinath Bhavan on the banks of Yamuna in Vrindavan. During the program, senior devotees announced that Srla Gurudeva would move to Govardhan within three or four days. BV Vaishnava Maharaja was with us in Vrindavan during the program, and had been in the Delhi Math when Brajanath Prabhu told the devotees about the new plan. Vaishnava Maharaja said that the mood amongst the devotees in Delhi was very serious, and Brajanath Prabhu was practically crying when he made the announcement.
Previously, it was understood that Srila Gurudeva would move to Govardhan either if his health had improved radically, and he was out of danger; or else if his condition had deteriorated and there was not much hope – at least, from the medical point of view – of his recovery. So it was going to be good news or bad news.
Ashram Maharaja, who is here inVrindavan, just spoke with Isa Prabhu, who is staying in the Delhi Math. Isa Prabhu said that Brajesha Prabhu, a very experienced naturopathic doctor, arrived in the Delhi Math today from California. He made a simple adjustment to Srila Gurudeva’s diet, and Srila Gurudeva immediately responded very positively. The devotees were singing the Australian melody outside Srila Gurudeva’s room, and he came out to them in his wheel chair. We have not yet heard whether there is a change in the plan for Srila Gurudeva to go to Govardhan.
At this stage, the material mind and intelligence cannot provide any shelter from the uncertainty; the distress of knowing that Srila Gurudeva appears to be in a distressing position; and the pain of knowing that he may soon enter nitya-lila. For those of us who are physically separated, the only recourse seems to be to take shelter of the holy name, find Srila Gurudeva’s transcendental presence, and serve him heart-to-heart. Sometimes devotees are afraid that this may only be sentimental imagination. However, even if it is partly imaginary (which many of us feel to be the case), there is also transcendental reality there, because we have heard this from Srila Gurudeva himself. The more we take shelter of that reality, the more that reality manifests.
Aspiring for service Sri Hari, Guru and Vaishnavas,
B V Nemi
